The Christkindlmarkt at Carter Green in Carmel, Indiana runs from 21 November to 24 December 2026. It is normally closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, opens at 4pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and at noon from Friday to Sunday. A handful of exceptions around Thanksgiving and in the last days before Christmas change that pattern. Regular weekly opening hours
The organiser publishes one weekly pattern for the whole season. Published exceptions always take precedence, so treat this as your starting point rather than a promise for every date.
Monday and Tuesday: closed
Wednesday and Thursday: 4pm to 9pm
Friday and Saturday: noon to 9pm
Sunday: noon to 8pm
The day of the week shapes the kind of visit you get. A Wednesday or Thursday is an evening outing, which leaves the day free for a museum or a short walk on the Monon Greenway. A Saturday gives you nine hours of market time, and on weekends the organiser also runs a shuttle from the former CNO campus at 550 College Drive. The market opens on Saturday 21 November, so the first day already follows the longer weekend hours.
Exceptions in Thanksgiving week
Two dates in late November break the weekly rhythm:
Wednesday 25 November: noon to 9pm, four hours earlier than a normal Wednesday
Thursday 26 November: closed for Thanksgiving
If you are in Indiana for the holiday weekend, do not keep Thanksgiving Day as a fallback for your market visit. The Wednesday before is the better choice if you want a long midweek day, and the regular Friday hours are the next option after the holiday unless the organiser announces a change.
The final days before Christmas
The last week of the season is the only time Monday and Tuesday visits work. The organiser publishes these dates as additional or extended market days:
Monday 21, Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 December: noon to 9pm each day
Thursday 24 December: noon to 4pm
Friday 25 December: closed
The market season ends on 24 December. There is no market after Christmas, even though other activities at Carter Green carry on. Christmas Eve is a short day with a limited window for food, shopping and getting away, so plan it as a focused visit rather than a long afternoon.
Market hours are not rink hours
The Ice at Carter Green sits on the same site but keeps its own calendar. The city's release of 21 October 2026 lists November and December rink hours as Wednesday and Thursday 4pm to 9pm, Friday and Saturday 11:30am to 9pm and Sunday 11:30am to 8pm. The rink opens noon to 9pm on 25 November and 11:30am to 4pm on 24 December, and it is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Its season continues until 31 January. An available skating session at 11:30am therefore does not mean the stalls are already open, and a rink visit in January is not a market visit.

The market is outdoors, and its weather policy allows closures at short notice. Read the organiser's daily update as well as the seasonal calendar before you set out.
