The Christkindlmarkt at Carter Green in Carmel, Indiana runs from 21 November to 24 December 2026. It is closed on most Mondays and Tuesdays, opens in the late afternoon midweek and at noon from Friday to Sunday. Here is the full calendar, with the exceptions that matter.

What are the opening hours of the Carmel Christkindlmarkt?
The organiser publishes a weekly pattern plus a few exceptions. The exceptions always take precedence, and weather can lead to short-notice closures.
Regular weekly hours
Closed on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday 4pm to 9pm, Friday and Saturday noon to 9pm, Sunday noon to 8pm. Midweek visits are evening visits, which leaves the day free for a museum or a walk. Weekends give you longer market time and the organiser's shuttle from the former CNO campus.
Thanksgiving week
Wednesday 25 November opens earlier than usual, from noon to 9pm. Thursday 26 November is closed for Thanksgiving. If you are in Indiana for the holiday weekend, do not keep Thanksgiving itself as a fallback day for the market; plan your visit for another day instead.
The last days before Christmas
Monday 21, Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 December are published as noon to 9pm each day, so this is the one week when Monday and Tuesday work. Thursday 24 December is a short day from noon to 4pm. The market is closed on 25 December, and the season does not continue after Christmas.

Werkstatt
The Werkstatt is the organiser's space for meeting German craftspeople and seeing their techniques. The published page still shows a 2025 schedule and older dates, so it does not confirm that a particular maker will be there in 2026. Check the current daily programme before you plan around a demonstration.
Kulturecke
The Kulturecke looks at German-speaking immigration to Indiana and the Christmas customs people brought with them. The market works with the Indiana German Heritage Society, and its page mentions the Indiana Historical Society as well. A short visit here before another browse around the stalls gives the decorations more context.
Kinderecke and Spielhaus
The Kinderecke offers hands-on crafts during market hours, and a children's passport leads to marked stations around the grounds. The Ice at Carter Green
The city announces a 2026–27 rink season from 21 November to 31 January. In November and December it opens Wednesday and Thursday 4pm to 9pm, Friday and Saturday 11:30am to 9pm and Sunday 11:30am to 8pm. Ticket statements conflict, so book a session online rather than counting on a walk-up ticket.
Miniatures and local history
The Museum of Miniature Houses at 111 East Main Street opens Wednesday to Saturday 11am to 4pm and Sunday 1pm to 4pm. The Carmel Clay History Museum at 211 First Street SW opens Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sunday noon to 5pm, with free admission through 2026. Both close on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Theatre and concerts
Civic Theatre's Annie plays the Tarkington on selected dates from 4 to 26 December 2026. The performing arts centre lists Girl Named Tom on 10 December, Jon McLaughlin on 11 December and Dave Koz on 12 December. A market visit usually fits before an evening show; tickets are separate from free market entry.

The Ice at Carter Green continues until 31 January and Annie has performances on 26 December, but these are separate offers. A later winter trip can include skating or theatre, just without open market stalls.

According to the organiser, regular admission is free. You pay for food, drinks, gifts, skating and skate rental. Theatre and concert tickets at Carter Green are also separate. The guide does not list menu prices because the stalls set them; check the displayed final amount before you pay.
