Barcelona Christmas market 2026: dates, places and what is confirmed
Barcelona has several Christmas markets rather than one, each with its own focus and calendar. For 2026, Festivalet (12 and 13 December) and the harbour season are announced, while Santa Llúcia, Sagrada Família and Gran Via had not yet published new dates on 28 October 2026. This page brings the places and dates together.

When are the Barcelona Christmas markets in 2026?
Two sets of 2026 dates are announced. Festivalet, the design and crafts fair in Sant Andreu, takes place on 12 and 13 December 2026. The harbour Fira de Nadal at Moll de la Fusta is listed by the Port Vell agenda for November 2026 to January 2027, and its event website gives 27 November to 6 January. Santa Llúcia, the Sagrada Família fair and the Fira de Reis on Gran Via still showed their 2025/26 calendars when researched. Last season, Santa Llúcia and Sagrada Família ended on 23 December and Gran Via ran until 6 January.

Which Christmas markets are there in Barcelona?
The guide groups Barcelona's markets by what you want to bring home. The table compares reasons to visit, not quality.
Santa Llúcia, Avinguda de la Catedral
The place for nativity figures, landscape accessories, plants and crafted gifts. The craft directory lists clay figures, caves and landscape features and equipment for illuminated scenes. The calendar page still refers to the 2025 edition, which ended on 23 December, so confirm your visiting day before you travel.
Sagrada Família fair
A mix of Christmas items, crafted gifts and food. The organiser lists honey, cheese, cured meats, crêpes, xurros and sweets among its examples. The page reviewed still gave 22 November to 23 December 2025. Visiting the fair and entering the basilica are two separate activities.
Fira de Reis, Gran Via
A gift market associated with Sant Tomàs, with roots going back to 1877: jewellery, clothing, decorations, ceramics and toys. The traders' association places the gift section between Comte d'Urgell and Calàbria. The 2025/26 edition ran from 18 December to 6 January; the new calendar was not yet out.
Fira de Nadal, Moll de la Fusta
Part of Nadal al Port, at Moll de Bosch i Alsina near Drassanes. The event website describes food, crafts, a stage and attractions and gives 27 November to 6 January. The Port Vell agenda confirms November 2026 to January 2027 but not yet the exact days. Some attractions may cost extra.
Festivalet, Sant Andreu
A selected mix of crafts, design and food at the former Fabra i Coats textile factory, Carrer de Sant Adrià 20. The organiser announces 12 and 13 December 2026. Recheck visitor hours and admission for this edition, as the general FAQ still refers to 2025.
How do you get to the Barcelona Christmas markets?
Most visitors use the metro. Save the exact address or market section, not just the market name.
Stations named in the guide
Sagrada Família station is served by L2 and L5; the basilica's general entrance for individual visitors is on Carrer de la Marina. Festivalet's FAQ names Sant Andreu on L1 as a reference point. For the harbour fair, navigate to Moll de la Fusta or Moll de Bosch i Alsina rather than simply Barcelona harbour.
T-casual or T-familiar
The T-casual costs €13 for 10 journeys in one zone, for one person at a time. The T-familiar costs €11.50 for 8 journeys and can be shared, one journey per person. A rechargeable anonymous card costs €1 on top. Neither multi-journey ticket is valid at the airport metro stations.
Find your section
Sources describe different market areas on Gran Via. The traders' association names Comte d'Urgell to Calàbria for gifts, while the previous cultural agenda gave a larger area between Muntaner and Rocafort. Note the cross street and the side of the avenue so you can return to a stall later.
Which Barcelona Christmas market should you visit first?
For a short trip, the guide recommends one main interest and one addition. Four markets in an afternoon leave little time to compare and ask questions.
Advent and nativity scenes
If figures and decorations are your focus, plan for Advent and start with Santa Llúcia or the Sagrada Família fair. Both ended on 23 December last season. Wait for the 2026 announcement before booking a trip around these two alone.
Three Kings and January
For a trip after Christmas, check Gran Via and the harbour first. Gran Via's previous edition ran until Three Kings' Day and the harbour agenda includes January. A date range does not promise that every stall opens on each public holiday.
A design weekend
Festivalet gives you a fixed weekend in Sant Andreu. Combine it with the old town on the other day, or with the Tió theatre event in Putxet on Wednesday 16 December if you stay longer and can book a place.

Frequently asked questions
When does the Barcelona Christmas market open in 2026?
There is no single opening day because Barcelona has several markets. The harbour Fira de Nadal's website gives 27 November 2026, which the Port Vell agenda had not yet confirmed in detail. Santa Llúcia and the Sagrada Família fair had not published 2026 dates by 28 October 2026. Last season, the Sagrada Família fair started on 22 November.
Where is the main Christmas market in Barcelona?
Santa Llúcia on Avinguda de la Catedral, next to the cathedral in the old town, is the traditional reference for nativity figures and Christmas crafts. For decorations and food, the Sagrada Família fair is the second classic. The harbour fair is at Moll de la Fusta and Festivalet at Fabra i Coats in Sant Andreu.
Are the Barcelona Christmas markets open after Christmas?
Not all of them. The previous editions of Santa Llúcia and the Sagrada Família fair ended on 23 December. Gran Via's Fira de Reis continued until Three Kings' Day, and the harbour agenda includes January for 2026/27. Check exact arrangements for each event and each public holiday.
What are the opening hours of the Barcelona Christmas markets?
The sources reviewed for the guide did not yet give confirmed daily hours for the 2026 markets, and for Gran Via the two sources even listed different hours last season. Check the organisers' websites for your day. Fixed hours are known for the Museu Marítim and the basilica, which you may combine with a market.
When is Festivalet 2026 in Barcelona?
The organiser announces Festivalet for 12 and 13 December 2026 at the former Fabra i Coats textile factory in Sant Andreu, Carrer de Sant Adrià 20. Sant Andreu on L1 is the metro reference point. Visitor hours and admission for 2026 still need checking, and it should not be confused with Festivalet Moda in October.
