During the Christmas weekend on 12 and 13 December 2026 there is no visitor parking at the Rammelsberg museum. Drivers use a free park-and-ride from Alte Heerstraße in Baßgeige, with shuttles every 20 minutes from 10:30 and a last return at 19:00. Without a car, take bus 803 towards Bergbaumuseum from Goslar station forecourt. The Goslar Christmas markets guide includes this transport plan alongside the ticket rules.
The organiser announces a free park-and-ride service for the event weekend. The details from our research:
The market opens at 11:00, so the first shuttle at 10:30 gets you there for the start of the first admission window. The market closes at 18:00, which leaves an hour before the last shuttle back. Check current signs and the organiser's information before setting off, as event arrangements can change.
From the station forecourt, bus 803 towards Bergbaumuseum takes you to the venue. The organiser states that travel is free with a valid event ticket; otherwise the VRB fare applies. This is a scheduled service and follows its own timetable. The 20-minute frequency belongs to the park-and-ride shuttle, not to bus 803, so look up the actual connection for your day.
If you have booked the Roeder tunnel walk, work backwards: you need to be at the museum ticket desk 30 minutes before your appointment. Allow for the bus, the walk from the stop and possible waiting time. For a 14:00 walk, the guide's example is to report at 13:30.
This is the most common mix-up. The large Osterfeld car park is intended for visitors to the city-centre Christmas market. There is expressly no shuttle from there to the Rammelsberg event. If you park at Osterfeld for the old town and want to visit Rammelsberg the same day, you need to plan that transfer yourself with a current connection.
Many visitors want both in one day. It is possible, but the guide recommends treating Rammelsberg as its own time block. If you reach Goslar only in the afternoon, do not count on exploring both properly. A practical order is Rammelsberg in the morning with the first admission window, then the old town in the late afternoon and evening, when the Christmas forest is lit. Before you leave the car, note your parking position and the correct return stop.
Yes, the park-and-ride from Alte Heerstraße in Baßgeige is announced as free. Shuttles run every 20 minutes from 10:30, and the final return leaves Rammelsberg at 19:00.
Not if you have a valid Rammelsberg event ticket, according to the organiser. Without one, the regular VRB fare applies.
The guide covers the event weekend, when there is no visitor parking at the museum. For other days, check the museum's own visitor information.
