Frequently asked questions

Questions about this product

How many days do I need in Penang?

Three days cover George Town and one trip to Air Itam or Penang Hill. Five or seven days leave room for the north-west coast, Balik Pulau and a slower second day in George Town. The guide shows which routes to combine.

Can I do the routes without a car?

The George Town routes work on foot, with walks of about 5–30 minutes between stops. Penang Hill, Kek Lok Si, the north-west and Balik Pulau need a taxi, app ride or arranged driver; each route lists the travel time for every leg.

What if it rains?

Every route has a rain alternative, for example staying longer in a house museum and moving the Clan Jetties to another day.

Can I use the route cards offline?

Yes. The PNG cards are image files you save to your phone before you leave.

Is anything shipped?
No. This is a digital product, so nothing is shipped. Access details come with your order confirmation.
How can I pay?
