Frequently asked questions

Questions about this product

When is the Montbéliard Christmas market in 2026?

Les Lumières de Noël is announced for 21 November to 24 December 2026. Until 19 December the market opens at 14:00 on Mondays and between 10:00 and 10:30 on other days, from 20 to 23 December it runs daily from 10:00 to 21:00, and on 24 December it closes at 18:00. The lights continue until 3 January 2027.

What can I do in Montbéliard if it rains?

From Wednesday to Sunday the castle’s historical route and Musée Beurnier-Rossel offer indoor time, with a suggested castle visit of one and a half to two hours. On Mondays and Tuesdays both museums are normally closed, so the guide suggests a shorter outdoor circuit and a warm break checked in advance.

Which station should I travel to?

Gare de Montbéliard on Place du Général-de-Gaulle is in the town centre. Belfort-Montbéliard TGV is outside the city in Meroux-Moval, and current évolitY information lists bus line D for the transfer. The guide explains how to plan that connection for your return.

Is the guide useful with children?

Yes. It covers the Christmas characters, the workshop that requires registration, the ice rink from age four and a short family route with one main idea. It also notes that pushchairs are not allowed on the castle route.

Is this an official guide?

No. Tabiara is an independent publisher and is not the organiser of the market. The guide names the official sources it used so that you can check current information before you travel.
