Lübeck Christmas Market 2026: Dates and Opening Hours
The traditional Lübeck Christmas market runs from 23 November to 30 December 2026. Here are the dates and hours of every market in town, including the craft markets and the Christmas closures.
The traditional Christmas market in Lübeck is announced for 23 November to 30 December 2026, at Markt by the town hall and along Breite Straße. According to the provisional organiser sheet, Markt opens 11:00–21:00 from Sunday to Thursday and 11:00–22:00 on Friday and Saturday. The main season and the central squares
Most visitors start at Markt, the square by the town hall. Breite Straße and Schrangen are generally scheduled for 11:00–21:00 every day. Food and drink stalls there may follow the longer Markt hours, so a late snack does not mean every retail stall is still open. Klingenberg is listed separately in the organiser sheet and is still marked as subject to planning.

Koberg, Hafenglühen and the family market
The northern old town and the waterfront follow slightly different rules. The maritime Christmas market on Koberg and Hafenglühen at Drehbrückenplatz are two separate places, even though both are described as maritime.
Koberg: 23 November to 29 December, 11:00–21:00 Sunday to Thursday and 11:00–22:00 Friday and Saturday. On 26 December it is planned from 13:00 to 20:00.
Hafenglühen: 23 November to 29 December. Monday to Thursday 15:00–21:00, Friday and Saturday 11:00–22:00, Sunday 11:00–21:00. Closed from 24 to 26 December.
Wichtelgolf in Jakobikirchhof: daily 11:00–19:00 from 23 November to 29 December, from 13:00 on 26 December.
Wichtel workshop: Friday to Sunday, 14:00–19:00, from 27 November to 20 December.
The craft markets have shorter windows
If crafts are the reason for your trip, the dates matter more than for any other market. Two of the three craft markets are over well before Christmas.
Lübsche Wiehnacht at Schuppen 6: two weekends only, 21–22 and 28–29 November. Hours and admission were not published on the official page at the time of research.
St. Petri: 24 November to 20 December, daily 11:00–19:00. Many stalls change on 7 December.
Heiligen-Geist-Hospital: 27 November to 6 December, daily 11:00–19:00.
The weekend of 28–29 November is the only time all three run together. The first Schuppen 6 weekend falls before the main season, so on 21–22 November the traditional market is not yet open.
Christmas and the last days
The city lists closures for numerous outdoor markets on 24 and 25 December. On 26 December the other listed locations open at 13:00, while Drehbrückenplatz stays closed. Koberg and Hafenglühen finish on 29 December. On 30 December the remaining central locations close at 18:00. In Travemünde, the Schiff ahoi market is announced from 21 November 2026 to 3 January 2027.
A season date range does not mean every stall is open every day at the same time. Treat the date, the daily hours, holiday exceptions and any admission rules as four separate checks for your chosen market.
