Lübeck has three craft Christmas markets in 2026: St. Petri (24 November to 20 December), Heiligen-Geist-Hospital (27 November to 6 December) and Lübsche Wiehnacht at Schuppen 6 (21–22 and 28–29 November). St. Petri and the Hospital open daily 11:00–19:00 and charge €4 for adults. The Lübeck Christmas Markets 2026 travel guide (PDF) has two craft routes built around these dates.

St. Petri: the longest craft season

The St. Petri craft market is announced daily from 11:00 to 19:00, from 24 November to 20 December 2026. The Nordkirche lists admission at €4, with free entry for children under twelve. That wording does not confirm free entry for a twelve-year-old, so check if it matters for your family budget.

According to the organiser, many stalls change on 7 December. Before that date, St. Petri fits with the early craft-market weekends. Afterwards, the new selection is a reason for a second visit. The final day is 20 December.

Heiligen-Geist-Hospital: ten days in early Advent

The craft market at Heiligen-Geist-Hospital, Koberg 9, opens daily from 11:00 to 19:00 between 27 November and 6 December 2026. If this market is your main reason for travelling, book your dates around that window first.

  • Admission: adults €4, school pupils and students €2, children aged 16 and under free.
  • Access: only the church hall is accessible with a wheelchair, walking frame or pushchair. The long hall with its small compartments and the vaulted area are not.
  • Groups: the organiser offers limited arrangements for registered groups using a separate entrance. This is not a general way to skip queues.

Lübsche Wiehnacht at Schuppen 6

The harbour warehouse Schuppen 6 on Untertrave hosts a craft market on two weekends: 21–22 and 28–29 November. The official tourism description mentions regional workshops, handmade work and a change of exhibitors for the second weekend. A cafeteria serves waffles, cake and snacks. There is no market between the two weekends.

The official page did not give opening hours or admission prices at the time of research. The guide does not adopt unconfirmed prices from third-party listings, so check both points before you travel.

How to shop at a craft market

A craft visit becomes more personal when you ask about the object as well as buying it. Three questions help:

  1. How was this made? Ask about materials and the making process.
  2. How do I transport and care for it? Delicate ceramics, a bulky wooden piece and a textile each need different packing.
  3. How can I contact the workshop later? Stalls change, so a particular maker may not be there on your next visit.

Note dimensions or preferred materials before you go if you are looking for a specific gift. Keep your receipt and care instructions. If you buy several larger items, take them back to your accommodation before a long outdoor evening.

Frequently asked questions

Which weekend has all three craft markets?

28–29 November 2026. St. Petri, the Hospital and the second Lübsche Wiehnacht weekend all run then. Choose two rather than trying to see every room.

How much is admission for two adults?

€8 for one of St. Petri or the Hospital, or €16 for both. Schuppen 6, food and shopping are not included.

Is there a craft market after 20 December?

Not in the old town. The Hospital ends on 6 December and St. Petri on 20 December.
